Summer Safety Reminder

Jun 14
1 min read

Parents, please take a few moments to speak with your children about bicycle and pedestrian safety, including: 1.) Always wear a properly fitted helmet when riding a bicycle, scooter, or other wheeled device. 2.) Obey traffic signs and signals. 3.) Be alert and watch for vehicles when entering roadways or crossing streets. 4.) Utilize marked crosswalks whenever possible. Crossing between parked vehicles greatly reduces visibility for both pedestrians and drivers and increases the risk of an accident. Please remember that motorized bicycles and motorized scooters are not permitted to be operated on public roadways unless they meet all applicable Pennsylvania vehicle requirements. We also ask motorists to do their part. Slow down and remain alert while traveling through Verona. Children may unexpectedly enter the roadway, ride from between parked vehicles, or cross streets without warning.
